Looks like this will be my last journal entry for the year! Christmas has come and gone... again.

Looks like that strike is over. What I love about reading the Post and the Daily News everyday is that whatever is going on today is the most pressing thing on the face of the earth. Once its over, it's like it never even happened. No follow up stories, no latest news on the contract negotiations, no new news on New Orleans. Funny little news system they have in my 'favorite city of all-time!' The big news in yesterday's paper was Eva Longoria using 'racial slurs' against her own race. That made page 3. I still don't know how those contract negotiations are going because the Post is too filled up with stories about a desperate housewive using the term 'mexican bike cop.' I could only hope someday Robert DeNiro calls me an 'Italian Musician,' even if he said it angrily!

In other news, "Sometimes" will be the 1st single off Requiem For Civilization. I just like that song the best. By the time the stations get the album, they'll probably play what they want anyways. But while I still have the power, I'm promoting "Sometimes." So alot of the sites where I'm featured will now have this song as the front runner. Check it out on myspace, indizoo and broadjam.

Peace out soldiers. I won't be playing this week, but if you want to find me I'll be somewhere harassing Robert DeNiro so we can make the news in NYC!

12/21/05
Well let me start by saying, my hat goes off to the NYC transit workers. This is a tiny little message to "the man" that says, "hey, you just can't walk all over us, we're the reason you make all your money." Hopefully various other businesses around the world will stop and read about the strike and think twice about sticking it to their workers/customers for the benefit of their bottom line. There's alot of people upset in NYC about the terrible scene it's creating down there and they're real angry at the transit workers. Hopefully they'll remain patient and civilized during this time so that everyone remains safe. Because that's what's most important here, especially during the holiday season. Now if we could just get the entire country to boycott gasoline/fuel until the price goes back down to a more reasonable price.

On another note the show at the Livery Caffe was awesome. One of the better "multi-artist" shows I've participated in. Kev Brock is a gem. He's the kind of guy that brings people together and helps make what music scene we have, actually tick. Plus he's good, real good. So's his cousin's outfit, Sauce. They must teach those Greenwich kids how to write songs at an early age! Anywho, there's pics up in the gallery for those interested. I also got the opportunity to sit down and discuss music with area legend, Tobias. Good times. He informed me myspace was FREE, like who knew? I'm always the last to know, and so now I have a myspace page just like everyone else. There's a link for it just under the date of this entry.

For those of you interested, I'm recording a live reaLation. show on Friday at the bar formerly known as the Big House in Albany, NY. The show's 5 to 8pm and I'm taping the 2nd set. Please come down and scream. It's a good chance to be on an album, if you're not already!

Have a safe and Happy Holiday, from the Joe Nacco Camp!

12/14/05
There's new pics in the gallery, the last 2 tracks are posted on Broadjam, there's a voting system to give input on your favorite track and fellow Schenectadian, Pat Riley, stabbed his protege in the back so he could relive his glory years of riding the coattails of other people's talents that he never had!

For the last few weeks I've been posting exactly what I wrote in my email and a few people said they stopped coming here and just read the email instead. Well we can't have that. Not with snake in the grass Pat Riley back in action. I'm always quick to point out a conspiracy. How about the staged fight between 311 and Creed's Scott Stapp, in hopes people might actually start talking about either one of them again. Hey guys, if you want to know how to make a comeback from severe mediocrity, call Green Day.

Now, back to my own news. I have a Christmas Show with Kev Brock and Sauce this Saturday in Greenwich. This is gonna be my last show for a while. I have a history of not taking shows in Jan and Feb, because I'm a giant Sally when it comes to the cold. March 3rd or 4th is the next show. It'll be another show with reaLation. which is always a sweet time. However, anything I say is subject to complete change at virtually anytime (The Miami Heat might win a Championship and I'll say firing Stan Van Gundy was Pat Riley's best move ever). My momma always said that women hold the right to change their mind at any point. Well I just called myself a Sally, so I can change my mind at any point as well.

Requiem For Civilization...January '06!! WOO HOO!!

12/07/05
The singles for "It's Christmas Time (Let's Get Drunk)" just arrived late last night from the manufacturer! So if you want your copy of this wonderful Christmas single, come to either of the next 2 shows and sign up for our email list and you'll receive a free copy. Everyone on our email list is eligible for 1 copy. Merry Christmas From the Joe Nacco camp!! Supplies are limited and this offer is only good while they last.

Well tracks 7 & 8 are posted, click that link under the date. This is another super week for the songs.

"New Revolution" (Track 7) might be my favorite song on the album. This song really works very well inside and outside of the album and its concept. It's a call for change and let the song speak for itself...

"Needful Worry" (Track 8), a boy and his piano. Like "God & Fairytales" (track 6), this is just me sitting at the piano. It's fun thing to play. The song is about the feeling you get when decide to put yourself out there and stand up for something only to find out everyone's with you. No better feeling if you've ever experienced something like that, maybe in a classroom, or at a meeting, this song is obviously on a more grand scale, but nonetheless. This is a very emotional and haunting song.

I also just got confirmation on a Christmas Show in Greenwich, NY. I'll be performing with Kev Brock & Sauce (for more info on these guys and the show click on the 'show' page). It's gonna be a must see performance, because I'm going to perform a few Christmas Songs for the very first time!

11/30/05
As you can see, this "award-winning" website got a giant make-over. Who doesn't like a makeover?? Plus there's some new pics up in the gallery! The new pics are clearly marked. BTW, I won the award last year for designing a good site without the use of complicated and high memory gimmicks. I hope this will be an improvement on that.

This a VERY good week for the songs and the artwork. "Sometimes" (Track 5) might be my favorite song on the album. It's about missing a loved one who has passed. In the story of the album, the main character has lost his entire family and this is the open letter. I know most people can relate to this...

"God & Fairytales" (Track 6) is really the crossroads in the story. Anyone who's ever had a string of bad luck in their life will begin to question their faith. It's a natural thing to do. Another underlying theme to this song, and the entire album, is the fact that as you grow older it simply becomes harder to stay positive. You see so many bad things and a bitterness just leaks into your life. Once you lose that child-like positivity, even more bad stuff follows.

I've posted the artwork from the back of the cd. Please at the very least look at that. It just about sums up everything. And yes, that is me. The sandals and socks thing has been going on since way back in the day. So everyone stop rippin' on me for that, I can't help it!!!!

11/23/05
Well the next two tracks (3&4) are up on Broadjam right now!! Click that link above. The response has been very positive. Alot of people really liked "Dance." Its a happy little number. Anyways the album starts getting real dark, as does the storyline. So go have a listen!

I also posted my tribute to Duran Duran. I did a studio remake of "Rio." I'm quite proud of it, it came out real tight sounding. It's my favorite bassline of all time.

I look forward to speaking to you next week.

11/16/05
Well here the storyline folks... my new album, Requiem For Civilization, is about a man who loses everything he has in a natural disaster. Questioning his faith and upset with his government, he organizes a revolution and they take to the streets.

Alot of this hits home these days with everything going on in the world. I feel like this carries an important message I feel I need to make and I'm fortunate to have my music so I can deliver it. I was finished with this before the Paris riots began and I started writing a big portion of this after the Tsunami hit and before Katrina.

Musically it's also a sharp turn from what I've done in the past. The piano is the primary instrument here and I used no electric guitars while making this album. I made everything entirely by myself (except Larry Devivo at Silvertone who mastered it) and I used and experimented with a variety of different sounds and instruments to produce the sound.

I hope you keep an open mind and listen to it in its entirety.

Listen to the first 2 tracks and see the cd cover here

For the next 5 weeks I'll make 2 songs available each week on Wednesday, in order of the album. The link is through broadjam. This week I've also included the cover art and with each passing week I'll post more and more of the artwork for the album. The songs are below the album cover.

The first track is called "Dance." Its an upbeat song about life in general. It sets the pace with alot of foreshadowing into the future.

The second track is called "Natural Disaster" and paints the picture of the natural disaster as well as other things that I'll leave to your imagination.

Enjoy!!

THE LOST ART IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT iTunes & CDBaby.com!

Good afternoon everyone. Im on time this week! I've done a little tweaking on the site. The "merch" page now allows you to buy the cds right from the site and the "radio/tv" page makes it easier for you to view the TV interviews. Please go have a look-see.

The Troy show was a good time and there's a few pics up in the gallery. We had a nice receptive crowd, and now that I shook off the rust that so quickly gathers when you don't play for a while, I'm back at Ambition Cafe on Thursday. 2 and a half hours of Joe Nacco. What more could you want??

The morning after were gonna get the new album mastered. We learned alot about the whole process of manufacturing cds the last time, so Im anticipating a very smooth and very efficient and very early December release. But you never know! And due to the subject matter and the timing of the rioting in Paris, the quicker we get this out the more prophetic my message and the cd will be. Next week I'll probably let everyone know the subject matter/storyline and give you a clip or two of some of the stuff.

Anyway, I hope to see you at Ambition. Im sure to perform a good chunk of the album and maybe even the Christmas Song with a family member or two, if I can remember the words.

11/02/05
Good golly, I'm real late with this entry. my eternal apologies! My month long performing hiatus is over, I'll be at Positively 4th Street with reaLation. this Friday November 4th! Would it be rude to cover Positively 4th Street by Bob Dylan? How many people have probably done that? Better yet, how many people don't know that's a Bob Dylan song? Either way, I'm really looking forward to the show!

I've got a bunch of releases coming up that were all looking forward to, starting with the release of "Requiem For Civilization." due to be released in December 2005! That's the new full length album I've been talking about recently. It's mysterious subject matter is still under lock and key and will remain so for a bit. But its grand.

Mi familia and I have just got done recording a Christmas song that I wrote and produced. It's just dandy and will be released as a single later this month. It will also appear on another extra full length release I've got coming out in December 2005. It's an album of extras, covers, live performances and Christmas songs we've done over the years. There will be a few unique surprises and the purchase of this album will be online only!! So there'll be plenty of Joe Nacco music to put under the Christmas Tree this year!

So anywho, I hope to see you on Friday!

10/26/05
WOO HOO! Just got finished tracking and mixing the new album! For the next 2 weeks I get to listen and tweak the mixes, 2 weeks from today we get it mastered. Shortly I'll leak a clip or two and some of the premise of the album. I know how you all love your sneak peaks!

With all this going on I didn't get to do this entry on time or get the Big Break interview on mp3, but it went well. I laughed when I heard it. Also got an overwhelming amount of feedback from the whole thing. It was definitely the best interview I've done on Big Break. He played "Inside my room" and "Follow you around." This Sunday at 11pm I'll be on Joe Mama's 15 minutes of fame 103.9/103.5fm "The Edge." Probably something similar to the Big break, although I'm sure we'll talk about a few different things. Tune in!

I also wanted to mention that I just joined an exciting new multilingual website called Indizoo. Click this link to see! I'm getting some prominent feature spots on there and it's a pretty sweet site. Check it out. See ya next week!

10/19/05
Well I'm a little late, but better me than your girlfriend, right? So I'm going to visit Jason Keller in a few minutes to tape the Big Break segment, which will air this Sunday at 8pm on 103.1fm. We'll be discussing, promoting and playing "The Lost Art." Anyone remember that album? I do. It's always interesting because he picks what 2 or 3 songs he thinks are hits and I like to get feedback. The station is already playing "Inside my room," so that's sure to be one. What will the others be? ....tune in to find out.

Next week I'll be done recording and mixing my even newer album, filled with all brand new material. I've been doing the whole process alone, much in the way that I did The Bored Syndrome, but my equipment is 40 times better. It's all so crispy and clear that I just can't wait to get it mastered. I've got 4 people acting as my A&R/quality control group, outside of them no one has heard anything (except Vince from reaLation, who heard the first 2 tracks). There's a big story underneath the album which makes it unlike anything I or anyone has ever done. It's got a whole "new" sound. I repeat, there are NO electric guitars on the album. It's primarily a piano album with a few acoustic guitars and some "never heard before" electronic sounds. The lyrics are unlike anything I or anyone has ever discussed before, in or out of an album. I'm probably saying a few things that might even hurt Eminem's feelings.

Soon enough I'll let everyone know exactly what's going on. I believe the idea and the story will not only be very important to me and my career but to the entire world. I think it's the kind of thing that will make people change the way they live, or at the very least "stop and scratch their heads." So I hope you look forward to that, I know I will.

THE Lost ART IS NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT iTunes & CDBaby.com!

Well my birthday was Saturday the 8th and you'll never guess who called to wish me a Happy Birthday.... Rob pulled some serious strings and got Beach Boys legend Brian Wilson to call me and wish me a Happy Birthday. That's right, no joke, thee Brian Wilson. I repeat this is not another of my silly pranks. We also talked about his Smile tour for a bit as well. It was a pretty cool thing to have someone like that on the other end of the tele. So a little public shout out to Brian Wilson and Rob.

Now on to why most of you keep checking this page! Alot of people have been asking me "What happened in Canada, eh?" Well it was kind of like the Wizard of Oz. In the end standing behind the curtain was a little old man, or in this case 3 young kids with some ideology on music that I think the vast majority of the american public would disagree with. Ironically we didn't talk too much about my skills, they seemed to accept what I was, but it was more of a why and where I thought I was marketable. Here's where I stand...

I make grey area music for the "that's lame" people. People who aren't gonna listen to Smashmouth or Britney Spears because "that's lame" and people who aren't gonna listen to Paul Westerberg and Tom Waits because "that's lame." I write and make music about things that everyone in this world can relate to, and I deliver it in a way that is neither going to hurt your ears or make you laugh (in a bad way). If you show me someone who doesn't understand or can't relate to what I'm saying in my music, I'll show you a newborn baby.

The "that's lame" people, like myself, listen primarily to classic rock (that's not just Skynyrd folks) and pull out all their classic cds because (and we've heard this a million times) there isn't alot of good music being put out these days for mainstream america. I stress!!! it is no coincidence that Paul McCartney and the Rolling Stones are top selling concert acts. Most of the people in this country don't want to take in what the labels are feeding us!! But I guess the labels feel like only the extremists purchase records. I beg to differ and I feel that if the industry in general would start taking on and promoting more acts who feel and represent this, we'd finally see the shift in the industry. And then all the executives could stop blaming 'mp3 pirating' for the failures of their A&R's.

Side note: I own both Britney Spears greatest hits and a bunch of Wilco and Sigur-Ros cds, for both listening fun and musical research!

People want to be challenged musically, but not too much. I mean it is music, it should be fun, but it doesn't need to be lame! In the meantime, while the labels get this problem straightened out, I'll keep making music for anyone who's interested in listening to it!

Speaking of which, I'm almost done recording my next album. I should be finished recording by month's end and we won't wait very long at all to put it out, because it's going to be very important to get it out ASAP. Still gotta keep most of what I'm doing in the bag, but I can tell you right now, it's gonna be huge. Billy-Fuccillo-Huge!

10/05/05
Well everyone, I'll be in Canada tomorrow. We had a little venue switch and now I'll be at the Pub St. Paul instead of the Hard rock Cafe. which I have no idea which is a better venue and don't really care. capitol, Virgin and Island Records will be at this venue and that's all that matters. Some in the conference felt I'd be matched up better there based on my music and that's a beautiful thing. So if the whole thing goes bust I'm gonna see if I can smooth talk my way into a lifetime supply of Capitol Records. wish me luck on both.

I just wanna give a shout out to CN9 for the coverage, the link to their mpeg is on the front of the site. Take a look when you get a chance!

09/28/05
Hi everyone! The Great Escape show was great. I played over in the big barn and got to showcase some even newer material. And the place was solidly packed for the majority of the show. The pics up in the gallery!

So speaking of new material, I've begun recording a new album. This time it won't take nearly as long because I'm doing it alone in my house at my leisure with all new state of the art equipment. I dont want to let go of too much info right now about it so I'll say that the writing is up even another notch from The Lost Art. As I progress, I'll of course leak a few things to you. The production will be unique, the sound will be totally different than anything I've been involved with in the past and they'll be a total abandonment of electric guitars, which will be interesting to say the least.

Talk to ya next week!

09/21/05
This Saturday, September 24th, I've got solo show at The Great Escape. This is sort of fitting because the band did the 1st band show of the year and I'm going back to do a solo show to wrap up the season's concert series. This time I will be performing in the Big Red Barn from 7:30-9:30pm. I just saw a commercial last night for Octoberfest being that day, so it should be a pretty cool time.

Capital News 9 is doing another segment on the Joe Nacco experience and it's set to air tomorrow, Sept. 22nd, at 4pm on cable channel 9. They showed up to the Katrina Benefit at Northern Lights and got some footage and I actually went in today to do an interview. I got alot of stuff off my chest, so it should VERY interesting. Please tune in, but if you can't there will be a link provided to watch it on their site as soon as i can post it.

Speaking of which, this went well. I felt there was a very good turnout for a local show on a Sunday evening. All the bands sounded real good, a combo of talent and the soundcrew. I just gotta add that The Lone Peaches were absolutely incredible. The whole band was tight and the singer sang "Back in black," "Sweet Child O Mine," "A thing called love" and "Dream On" to perfection and with a power you just couldn't expect, and while handling all the guitar parts (and believe me, I know how difficult that is). If you get a chance check them out. Visit their site (P.S. this is not a plug, I don't know them). I've added some pics on the gallery of some of the folks involved, my friends and family and of course, more stellar pictues of myself.

09/14/05
3 weeks ago I re-recorded 'I'm An Alcoholic' with some new equipment I bought in an effort to get the hang of things before working on some new stuff. This week I give you I'm An Alcoholic (The Scott Lombardi Remix).

For those of you not familiar with Scott Lombardi or his work, Scott was the original co-founding member of HEAD (along with Paul and myself), playing bass and singing. Scott and I have also been best of friends since we were little kids listening to Warrant and Winger on porch decks of Tall Oaks sneaking cigarettes and beer from who we could. You can also see his picture here.

Upon hearing this new version, Scott became upset with the over production and demanded a remix. So even though he actually didn't remix it (he now resides in Florida), I'm hoping he approves (if nothing else he should be happy I named a song after him) and I also would like to share it with you as well. Go to the MP3 page or click here to listen.

09/07/05

Anyway, I don't need to finish the story of the gas prices because I'm sure everyone reading is fully aware!

As you all know, I don't have any shows until October. And with my idle incapacitated hands, I somehow managed to muster up the strength and courage to record another test song on my new equipment without doing any further damage to my hands. You can hear it by clicking here or by going to the MP3 page. Its called "Angel" and its almost 8 years old. But it's never sounded more new than today. Please listen to it and then call me up to tell me how badly I've ruined the song!! For more on that story, please come back next week....

On Sunday, September 11, 2005, one of my songs will debut on Radio Crystal Blue. This is an internet radio station based out of NYC. The show runs for 6 hours on a stream over the net and my song will be played sometime during the 2nd half of the show. For those of you not good at math, that's between 10pm & 1am. There are ways to listen to archive shows the next day and beyond. Go to www.radiocrystalblue.com for more info!

And, in memory of Bob Denver, Goodbye Little Buddy!

08/31/05
I went to get coffee this morning and saw that gas was $3.09 a gallon. Funny, I have a half a tank left and purchased my FULL tank at $2.59 a gallon. Whats wrong with that scenario? Either I haven't driven my car in 2 years, have an extremely large tank, or someone is seriously taking advantage of us. It is time to do something about this or we'll be prisoners in our own homes....

Coincidently I'm taking September off to rest from all the summer shows and whatnot. I've also begun writing and recording a new album. I love writing and recording so much that I have a tendency to begin working on new albums immediately after releasing one. We finished The Head of a Monkey two weeks after the CD release party for The Bored Syndrome and then sat on it for a year. So I'm sure something like that will happen with this. All I can tell you now is that it will be far more piano-driven that anything I've done, and very very different as well.

Come October the hustling and promotion of The Lost Art will resume in the form of touring the Northeast. that starts off in Canada on the 6th and as soon as we can release some sort of schedule, we will.

The last of the Lake George shows this past week were amazing. I met so many cool people over the 2 shows, it was great. It was a beautiful way to end the summer. The most memorable moment would probably be meeting Ryan. Ryan has a cat and it bites and scratches and his picture is in the gallery along with many many others. Thank you all and everyone who has been a part of the summer adventure!!

08/24/05
Hi everyone, I got alot of great news to announce here! October 6th at 7:30PM, I'll be performing solo at the Hard Rock Cafe in Montreal to showcase for 3 major labels. This is obviously a sweet opportunity to make some solid connections. It's called the XMG Music Conference where over 160 artists will perform over 5 days with that sweet chance of winning the hearts of major labels. To find out the details go to the 'dates' page.

I've just made some beautiful additions in the home studio department as well as in the instrument department. So as a test, I decided to re-record "I'm An Alcoholic" (the original version can be found on The Head of a Monkey.) Listen to it here or on the mp3 page. It's quite a change to the song. I've been figuring out ways to incorporate "new sounds" into my pop music for the next album. So take this as just a window into the next album... and also keep in mind, this is an old song with a new touch, soon they'll be new songs with a new touch. Hope you enjoy, I always encourage everyone to go to the contact page and email me your thoughts on the songs, even if you don't like them!

There are new pics up in the gallery. My father is looking better than ever at the age of 72!!

WEQX began playing "By Your Side" this week. I ask you to call in and request the song and you can find all that info on the 'radio' page. As always, be well.

08/17/05
Good afternoon readers. I've made some updates to the mp3 page so you can go hear 2 radio interviews. Last week's interview on Shawn Kelly's morning show is posted as well as another interview from about a year ago that I did with Jason Keller. Shawn Kelly had alot of nice things to say about the CD and I encourage you to have a listen. Click here to hear it. He also played "By Your Side," which is becoming a big hit across the country and in Australia and is the 1st track from the new disc. Click here so you can see what all the fuss is about the new album. there's reviews at the bottom from buyers!

I'm into my second August Lake George solo show this week. It's at Station's Restaurant & Bar again, which is right across the street from the Minne-Ha-Ha!! I love when they blow the horn while I'm singing, it totally drowns me out so I switch songs to see if anyone gets it. No one did last week. Come down and see if you can get it... I'll be there. Alot friends stopped by last week and it was go to see you all. Some are posted in the gallery. After the show, I went to see reaLation perform and ended up getting on stage for a little song called "Billie Jean." If you haven't caught a reaLation show, you should, They're awesome!

Talk y'all next week!!

08/10/05
Well I literally just got done with my phone interview on 100.3FM and it was a sweet time! It's a Glens Falls station, but it comes in all over the place and since I'll be doing the Lake George acoustic shows, it really paid off to do the little plug on the air. He also played "By your side!" Woo hoo, woo hoo hoo!

Im very tired now cause it's early, the pics are up in the gallery from Mad River. I hope everyone has a great week and I hope to see ya in Lake George.

08/03/05
ATTENTION!!! "Lovelight" and "You Don't Belong To Me" made it to the semi-finals in 2005 UK Songwriting Contest. Not too shabby when you don't even live in the UK. I guess my little songs aren't rubbish after all! Which brings me to some news that got passed over. "Breathe" won an honorable mention in the 2004 Billboard Sonwriting contest. So if you're reading this and don't have the new CD, what are you waiting for. 4 songs on the radio, 1 on a indie film and 2 have placed in a songwriting contest. Go to CDBaby now and buy the disc!!

For a limited time you can buy all three of my CD's from CDBaby for $15. This is no lie, go there now. The Bored Syndrome, The Head of a Monkey and The Lost Art, all for $15. You won't find a better deal anywhere!! Just go put all 3 CDs in your cart and the price takes care of itself. Click here. Also if you do have the The Lost Art you can write a review on that page!

The pictures from the Big House are up in the gallery!

We're gonna be at the Mad River tomorrow night for a post Alive at 5 show in Albany, NY. If you're around, stop by you won't want to miss this!!

07/27/05
Hi everyone. We got a nice little Happy Hour show at the Big House this Friday. BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND! Awesome, I know I can't wait, can you?? My manager says not to mention that this will be the last 2 summer bands shows because it sounds sad, so I won't say anything about that. Just think, while all you are complaining your tails off about this little heat wave, soon enough we'll be trapped under 3 or 4 feet of snow!! And then you can complain about that.

This album is selling like hotcakes, and it should, it's better than the new Coldplay album by leaps and bounds and that's sold over a million copies! Meantime, iTunes is selling copies of I'm an alcoholic at an alarming rate. I wonder why? Oh yeah cause the whole world is hopped up on drugs and alcohol and people buy things they can relate to. Maybe I should write a song about the rising price of gasoline. Quite frankly I like paying $2.37 for a gallon of gas....

I was in a weird mood yesterday and it seems to be continuing! Theres a bunch of sweet solo Lake George shows that we've just announced on the dates page. Listen.... these are my personal favorite shows because it's like going on tour without leaving town. I get to meet a bunch of people from Canada. I like Canada, I want to go play up there, but I guess you got to get a work permit or something and I hate paperwork!!

So check out the dates and I'll talk to you next week.

07/20/05
Hey everyone. Unfortunately the pictures from Ziggy's won't be up for a while, I can't seem to get Walmarts picture discs to run in my computer. But I'll fin someone who can and in turn email them to me. HINT HINT!

We have a week off before the Big House to collect ourselves. The CD will be going on sale very shortly online. I know I keep saying this but like I said, every aspect of this CD just keeps getting delayed, so I'm not surprised it's still be delayed from the retailers!! HA! I bet 2 years from now the CD will get its just due, just because everything else has been delayed, so will fan response! See ya next time!

07/13/05
The Lost Art will be available for purchase online at CDBaby.com and towerrecords.com in the next few days. "It's OK" and "By your side" are already in rotation on a few stations across the country and internationally! Our own local Shawn Kelly began playing "By your side" this week on his morning show on 100.3FM The Point!! Rob and I are working hard on national promotions and so far all the response has been great. We've been getting updates from several radio stations that we sent the "triple single" to back in January. It's a ton of fun!

Anyway, we'll be at Ziggy's this Friday to kick off a series of CD release parties that began in Great Escape. We decided not have one in particular because, different fans come out to different shows. The Latham crowd is up next. I know alot of folks from Troy and Green island will pop up as well. We look forward to seeing you all!!

I'm overhauling the lyrics page right now. In the next few weeks it will be complete. For right now, each album's lyrics is up in a different format! Please go have a look!

Love ya,
Joe Nacco

The Great Escape was a smashing success and there are the most pictures I ever put up at one time in the gallery page. Alot of people came out to see us which was cool when you consider the price of admission. I want thank everyone who came out and helped make the show a success. God bless you all!

Within a few weeks or so, you'll be able to purchase the album online at various stores, both as a whole and as mp3s for your ipod or whatever have you. Be patient, we'll let you know as it goes! We will begin selling it at the shows immediately! Look forward to seeing you at Ziggy's!

06/29/05
The news of the week... it looks like The Lost Art shipment is coming! We'll have the cds in time for The Great Escape show this Saturday!!! WOOHOO!!! So this is your chance to pick it up before it's officially released. Like a pre-CD release party at Great Escape. Your invited!

There are pics up from both of the last shows in the gallery! Both shows went well and we all had alot of fun. I really feel like the whole act is really tightening up with each show. As some of you know we recently had a complete revamping of the band and now have 3 shows under our belt. We should be really ready for The Great Escape and I hope to see ya there!

06/22/05
Well everyone, the warmup is over, let the real shows begin. There are pictures up from Maxie's in gallery page.

This week we have 2 shows. Thursday at The Big House in Albany and Saturday at The Artisan in Saratoga. Very party-esque atmosphere, should be a sweet time. We hope to see ya there! But beware, the Saratoga show is weather permitting, if it's raining were not playing.

06/15/05
Michael Jackson is FREE!!! My childhood idol and inspiration for making music isn't a demented freak after all, YIPPEE!!!!

Well since announcing the shows, album and new lineup, this site's traffic is off the charts. We shattered our daily and weekly visitors records by a significant number! So it looks like the excitement is back. Minutes after posting last week's updates & emails we got a call from The Great Escape asking us to perform the 4th of July weekend and to kick off their summer concert series for the year. Apparently, that's the way it will be billed.

We haven't performed as a band since November when Josh was filling in. And this Friday launches the kickoff show to yet another JNB comeback. My Dad says you can't have a comeback if you never were! He's funny with his fancy pants jokes. But nonetheless, comeback or kickoff, we'll be performing at Maxie's on Wolf Rd. on Friday June 17 from 7-11pm. Nancy and Amanda will do a set and a few sporadic jump on stage performances with us. Next week at The Big House will be their official debut. This Maxie's show will be a nice little warmup for everyone. We hope you can join us. We'll be performing songs from the album live for the very first time!! See ya There!

I need to vent for a quick second. I said I wasn't but I just can't let it go. I got the new Coldplay CD last week and was quite disappointed. After making 2 of the best CDs I've heard in a long time, they come out with X & Y. The success of "Clocks" seems to have driven them to make a new album packed with songs like "Clocks," which I thought was their worst song on their last album. Gone are all those great quirky little numbers like "The Scientist," "Politics," & "Yellow." I'm not sure if the public or the record label is to blame for this but it makes me sad. I heard "Speed of sound" and it's direct ripoff of "Clocks" and figured it would just be one song for the label to push to sell the album and when I got the album I realized I was wrong. I imagine people might like it, but I don't.

However, they seemed to have developed the idea they had with "Amsterdam" into a more commercially appealing song called "Fix You." This is top notch stuff, the only good song on the CD, and destined to blowup. My inside sources tell me they're already playing it on the OC. People magazine reviews CDs and at the bottom they do a "Download this...," which is their fancy way of saying "best song" in our new technological world, and they said "Fix you" as well. Anywho, take my opinion as you will... If you like early Coldplay, you won't like it. If you liked "Clocks" and were disappointed when you bought the album to find nothing like else on it like "Clocks," go grab this album, youll finally be happy. I should start writing reviews. I buy enough CDs.

The new Foo Fighters CD is a steal at 9.72 at Walmart! Double disc, one CD heavy, one CD acoustic with a bunch of trendy special guests! Both CDs are full length!

If you came in on this page cause it's saved in your favorites, go check the band page and come back. If you've already been, you noticed we've announced the All New Joe Nacco Band. After trying for so long to get a bassist who could sing backup so we could keep it a 3 piece, we decided to finally get what we needed. We went out and got the best bass player Paul & I know (Brian - who learned the whole new album by himself and came into practice and we all played it the first time through like we've been playing it for years) and then I recruited my very beautiful and highly talented sisters (Amanda & Nancy) to help me sing this year. Nancy plays piano which will help at times, and Amanda a little percussion, but mostly they'll be singing, with me and without. There's alot of buzz going on about this and I hope you can come see this. You can't top family harmonies, ask Brian, carl and Dennis.

Which brings me to the next bit of news. Ive also announced the first batch of summer dates. They're much better this year than last, we've been quite lucky in getting some solid dates at solid venues so we can have our fun. This will benefit the fan because it's just gonna be that much more fun. There will be a handful of other shows we're waiting for confirmation on and will be posted within a week or two.

Speaking of fun, we did a photo shoot, it's on the gallery page and the band page, check it out. If it's any indication of anything it's all gonna be a blast. It reminds me of being a child and singing in our bedrooms together. Or a reunion of the time we dressed up like smurfs and sang and danced at the talent show in Cali. Or all the times in church when we used to try to make each other laugh at inopportune times....

But with Scotch and Merlot....

Looks like I'm alcoholic is blowing up on itunes. Probably from the title and then through word of mouth. It's always been a nice staple of our live show, so I guess its no surprise. God bless the Phoenix Suns! God bless the new Oasis CD! I don't think there's a better band than Oasis these days. I mean really, Ringo Starr's son is playing drums on the new CD. If that isn't a sign, I don't know what is!

We've got alot of exciting news on the way shortly. The Joe Nacco Band got a major overhaul and we'll be announcing this year's lineup shortly. I'll give you hint. There's 5 of us now and only Paul and I remain! We've also been busy booking for the summer and fall and we'll be announcing the summer dates shortly. It looks like late June will be the first show, so stay tuned! They are very exciting shows and venues. And this new lineup will shock and awe everyone!

There's new pics up in the gallery from the Ambition Show! Check it! the new CD is coming... probably in late June as well.

05/25/05
Open to the public! Click the link above to preview the brand new album The Lost Art. Unfortunately if you didn't sign up for the email list you lost the chance to preview the entire songs. Now there are 1 minute clips of each song. They contain the hooks, son!

The new CD is being manufactured as we speak and we're looking at a mid-June release. Tomorrow night I'll be performing at the Ambition Cafe at 5:30pm. What a great time and it's FREE! That's right, FREE dollars!

See ya there!

05/18/05
Well the weblink is out there. I've been getting alot great feedback from all over. I've very happy so many people are listening and enjoying it. If you didn't sign up for the email list so you can get the link.... there is still time. Sign up now!

I played a private show at Burnt Hills High last week. We just got the photos up of everyone on the gallery page. Please take a look. Enjoy your week!

05/11/05
Well how's everyone doing? I've got a ton of new email list signer uppers to get a sneak peak at the new LP. This thing is hot!! Were getting closer everyday to a solid release date. Were still finishing up a few artwork issues and we'll be with you shortly.

There's a few new pictures up in the gallery of me with my sister's kids. Have a great week!

05/04/05
Well were up and selling itunes! We got our first sale already. This all just gets us fired up for the launching of the new LP. You like that, LP? Thats from the old days when they had Long Playing records. I bet most youngens have never experienced the vinyl, much in the way i had only seen a few 8-track cassettes growing up. To this day, I still dont know how they work because I guess they had like 4 sides. I could never understand it as a kid and then they just disappeared. technology is sweet. Although I cant imagine the CD ever becoming extinct, Im sure someday it will.

So we got the master back and it's the sweetest thing I've heard since I first played that Duran Duran LP when I was 5. Were just laying the artwork for the new LP/CD, or whatever have you.

Sometime during the next couple weeks, I'll be launching a special website for people on our email list. During the first week everything will be accessible. Every song will be streaming, contain lyrics, production notes, song notes, album notes, artwork and album credits. So for one week, you'll have the album. Then the mp3s will disappear and be replaced little snipets and everything else will remain and then will become accessible to everyone through joenacco.com. So the question is, how do I get that exclusive sneak peak? The answer is simple, just sign up for the email list. Which is even more simple. Just go to the contact page and email me and you'll be added.

So don't wait, sign up for the email list. You can cancel your membership at any time, folks. There are new pictures up in the gallery page from the last performance at Ambition Cafe.

04/27/05
the Head of a Monkey is back up and available for purchase at CD Baby. Tower Records needs a minute to catch up. I've added 2 shows to the 'shows' page. One is last minute, but Im always ready. It's at the Ambition Cafe in Schenectady. If you havent caught one of these shows, youre missing out. The place is always packed and I put on a really good show. Im gonna try to do everything off the new album and only Beatles and Beach Boys covers all night long. We'll see how that goes.

Friday and Saturday, the new album will be mastered and we'll have it available for purchase very soon. Other than that.... be good and make sure you get 5 to 9 servings of fruits and vegetables every day, just like I do! I feel great!!

04/20/05
I'm a day late, which tends to happen as the weather gets warmer. The biggest piece of info right now is that the guestbook and poll are down. Quite frankly, it doesnt look like theyre coming back up any time soon, so I'll probably yank em'. You know you can always email me from the contact page and say whatever you want. Im open to all discussions.

Next Saturday we should have the master copy of the new album and then its off to reproduction.

Cd Baby and Tower Records have sold out of "The Head of a Monkey." Theyve been selling like crazy all over the world. I guess the radio campaign paid off! So if you go to CD Baby and see theyre sold out, fear not, I'm sending more copies to them right now and they'll be available in the next couple days. Thanks!

04/13/05
Were officially done in the studio. We wrapped up the final tweaking at 12:30 pm today. Tomorrow we begin the mastering process and as always, you'll know whats up with that next week.

Once again the weather has been jumping around here in Upstate NY, but other than that there is no news. I wish there was, I wish I had more to say but I dont.

Ive already grown tired of trying to pick a person for "Joe Nacco's Person of the week." So this will be the last week. And to celebrate I'll pick myself as person of the week. I give it to me for knowing when to stop a joke while it's still funny instead of letting it run dry. Thanks again for listening to me ramble, and have a good week.

04/06/05
The Head of a Monkey is almost out of stock at cdbaby.com, which is awesome, and don't fear cause we'll obviously send em more. So keep buying, maybe HOM will go platinum and that will give us more time to finish up this sweet new album we've been working on. Which is still being tweaked and waiting to be mastered.

I was gonna make light of the Terri Schiavo situation last Wednesday, but I thought with her about ready to pass it might not be very sensitive of me, and so I passed on telling my little joke. Only to find out that later on that night South Park dedicated a whole episode to making light of Terri Schiavo. I guess there is nothing they won't touch. If you didnt see it that night, while everything was going on, it probably wont seem as shocking and funny, but none the less it was one of the funniest episodes I've ever seen.

So without further ado, week 3's "Joe Nacco's Person of the Week" goes to Trey Parker and Matt Stone, creators of South Park, for being brave enough to be insensitive at a time when a little comic relief is truly needed. Honorable mentions go to Terri Schiavo, The Pope, Peter Jennings & Prince Rainier (who just died this morning at 6:35am). Hey, thanks for reading, and have a good week.

03/30/05
By week's end the site visitor count should be over 10,000. A very proud moment for the Joe Nacco camp. I just want to take this opportunity to thank the sick pervs doing google searches for "piggyback" and hitting our gallery page. I'd also like to thank all the college kids googling "get your girlfriend back." And last, but certainly not least, all the women (or men) googling "business men." Thanks to all for visiting Joe Nacco dot Com.

This album will be finsihed on Friday. It's absolutely amazing, thats all I can say. No wait, I have much more to say. It really makes the other 2 albums seem silly. It sounds like a brand new album from a major label band like Coldplay or U2. I'm not exaggerating either. You'll just have to wait to hear it. Next on the to do list is having it mastered and then reproduced. Sometime in May and I think we're on track.

Week 2's "Joe Nacco's Person of the Week" goes to none other than Johnny Cochran. My boy. I got word last night and I was just shocked, I didn't even know he was sick. Such an honorable man, what a loss for everyone. Immediately all news went to OJ for quotes. Of course he had nothing but good things to say about the man, as do I. Saving a man from spending his life in prison for a crime he didn't commit. Wow. No other honorable mentions.

03/23/05
So last week at work I came back to my desk and there was a present from an anonymous Donny Osmound fan who didnt read the disclaimer above. Apparently this person was not happy with my misspelling of Donny Osmund on the gallery page so they gave me a Donny Osmind CD with a note that said "this is to help with your spelling AND to enhance your music collection." I had spelled it Donnie, like Donnie Wahlberg, instead of Donny, like Donny Ozmond. So thanks for the gift/spelling tip, and i'll be sure to spell Donny Ozzmound correctly from here out. A little side note, Donny does a great cover of Richard Marx "Right here waiting."

So the recording of my vocals went well, as did the editing and were left to mix the last 4 songs on Friday. we may have to go in once more for a little tweaking, but we'll see and I'll let you know next week.

Im going to start a little something here called "Joe Nacco's Person of the Week Award." Im giving it out to courageous people in the news who have done something good for their town, state, country or civilization in general. This week's award goes to one of my personal heroes, Mark McGwire. Mark's a stand up guy who showed up to a congressional hearing and wasn't afraid to show his emotions while discussing how wrong it is to do steriods. Mark is a very brave man. Also he's living proof that if you cheat to accomplish something, someone else will come along and cheat just a little more to beat you, so really there is no point in cheating. Honorable mentions: Sammy Sosa (very brave with language barriers) and Michael Jackson (very brave with that sore back).

03/16/05
Whats up everybody? We got the drums down and now I just have to sing 4 songs this Friday and we're done. Well, besides editing, mixing, mastering and manufacturing. But at least all the recording will finally be done. It's been quite an experience I tell ya. That's about all I have to say, other than Spring is coming and you know what that means....

03/09/05
Northern Lights was an awesome time. I got pictures up of every performer on the gallery page. Please check it out. Everyone did a lovely job of making the show a success. My hat goes off to everyone!

After this weekend we'll be a chest hair away from wrapping up the studio. We'll let you all know whats up and where were at next week. Right now 6 songs are finished, 4 need vocals, 3 of the same 4 need drums and we should have that finished tomorrow. Then we mix the 4 on friday and all systems go! Check back next week.

03/02/05
*(COME TO NORTHERN LIGHTS 03/03)* I know I keep putting the cdbaby thing in the journal entry and its confusing people as to whether ive updated it or not, but this site doesn't pay for itself kids! *(COME TO NORTHERN LIGHTS 03/03)* I mean really thats what the internet is all about, advertising your products. *(COME TO NORTHERN LIGHTS 03/03)* So you'll just have to bear with me as I spam the simple pleasures of life, like reading my journal. *(COME TO NORTHERN LIGHTS 03/03)*

*(COME TO NORTHERN LIGHTS 03/03)* There's updates in the gallery, I have a show at Northern Lights tomorrow, in case you haven't heard. *(COME TO NORTHERN LIGHTS 03/03)* It's a solo show, I'm opening for 4 other performers. They are Inside Draw, Liquid Surface, Catchfire and Erin Quillinan. I play from 7:30pm-8pm, exactly. It's gonna be an awesome show. I'm playing all new stuff from both of the upcoming albums. So thats awesome. I also know Erin and I'm looking forward to seeing her perform. I'm also looking forward to playing with Catchfire again. The opened for "The Mike and Joe Show" at Sportsworld 2 summers ago. It was a great time. They rocked and I'm sure they will again. I dont know the 2 other bands but Erin assured me they were very very good, and she likes my music so I know she has very good taste. *(COME TO NORTHERN LIGHTS 03/03)*

So have a good week and I hope to see you tomorrow night at 7:30pm. *(COME TO NORTHERN LIGHTS 03/03)*

02/23/05
If anyone needs me I'll be at Madison Square gardens watching Allen Iverson putting it on Stephon Marbury. AI's been hot lately, so this should be awesome. I'll bring back pictures for all my fans, please be patient.

Another week goes by and we get a little closer to the finish line. We have deadline of May 1st, so thats what were shooting for. It certainly looks like we'll make it. I've begun working on some other new material at my home studio which may or may not accompany it. Its a little stripped down and more piano and acoustic driven. We'll see where that goes and how far. So until next week, when I'll undoubtedly be promoting my solo show at Northern Lights (Thursday March 3rd, 2005 7:30pm - 8pm) which is accidently being promoted in the local papers as a "band show", but it is not.

02/16/05
Last Friday at noon I get a call from Charlie Morris asking me to fill in on a happy hour show for an acoustic duo at The Bayou Cafe in Albany. Sounded like a good time, so I did it but didnt have enough time to really tell anyone here about it. For that I apologize. It went VERY well and there are a couple pics up in the gallery.

Also in the gallery is pictures from my trip to see the Knicks. There are a few clever little pics in there worth checking out as well. I tried to get a picture of 3 Knicks cheerleaders, but my camera hesitated and one of them walked right into me as my camera went off. The Knicks lost, just as I said they would last week. I didnt see Marbury crying, but he didnt look too happy.

Just like Axl, I'm still working on my new album. Unlike Axl I'm getting really close to being finished. Were going over it with a fine tooth comb so it still may be a little while but hey, its gotta be perfect. In my opinion, this will probably be the best CD released since "Shout at the Devil" in 1983 by Motley Crue.

Another sweet show announcement (even though I keep claiming I'm not playing until Spring) I'll be opening up a show at Northern Lights on March 3, 2005. It's solo and I'll be back and forth on piano and guitar and I'll probably play a few new tunes. So look out for that!

02/09/05
If anyone needs me I'll be at Madison Square Gardens watching Shaquille O'Neal kick Nazr Mohammed's a$$, while Stephon Marbury cries like 4 yr old girl with a skinned knee.

Got some new pics up on the gallery page. Enjoy!

02/02/05
Awesome, February is here and I get to flip the calendar to the next wonderful picture of Christina Aguilera!

Lovelight is here and streaming. Check the mp3 page to go hear it and then please vote. Please vote! Breathe got downloaded over 100 times and 11 people voted. 60% showed up in Iraq to vote. I cant believe people care more about their president than their music. I mean come on guys!

I have a show tomorrow, the last one was crazy/insane wall to wall traffic, word on the street is they'll be there again. Staring at me, watching my every move, waiting for me to miss a note or strike a wrong chord. I gotta go practice.

01/26/05
Good afternoon everyone (or whenever you read this). This week we've added 20 more radio stations to the list. Most of these have already begun playing the music! So if you see one in your area tune in, call in and request it! Id like to thank the stations for their support of the single. Your kind words, along with your support, have been very encouraging during this very long and tedious process. Also it's nice to see my home state (Cali) coming through this week!

"Breathe" is out there now. So is the poll. Please vote. The response to "Down" was great. It received an average 4.5 stars, which is just super!

Were all very excited here at the Joe Nacco camp. We'll be mixing and mastering the CD over the weekend. It's really taking form, and from a production standpoint, this is the first album where the songs are coming out just like i hear em in my head. The limitless capabilities of a professional studio is awesome! So if anyone wants to buy my old recording equipment let me know.

I've slightly touched up the site. You'll notice a new "links" page to the left of your screen. This will allow me to add more stuff and tell you a bit about what they are. Don't forget, next week is "Lovelight!"

01/19/05
This week we've released a brand new version of "Down." The link is at the top of the page and please take the poll so we know how you feel. It turns out last week's poll ended up in a not so close finish, with 38% of the people "not liking Paul cause he hangs out with me" while 27% of the people thought "Paul's solo was the best thing since Moby Dick." I think that paints a nice picture.

The label game is going as expected, alot of mailing and waiting. Speaking of mailing, we've begun something I like to call operation:radio. Management and I have begun contacting radio stations all around the world. Numerous responses are coming back in support of the music. As quickly as we can get the single out, we are. All along, with each mailing, I'm updating the "radio/tv" page to reflect who is playing the music. I've reconstructed it by region and state. So if your in Alaska and wish to hear a Joe nacco song, feel free to request it at a nearby station. It helps everyone! If you live in somewhere and you dont see a station listed, email me, we'll make the contacts necessary.

Thank you and have a nice week! And dont forget, next week we release the brand new version of our smash hit "Breathe!"

01/12/05
Last week we spent Thursday and Friday in Cat Trax Studios re-recording "Breathe" and "Down." We also mixed a new version of "Lovelight" (which will be on the new album) and these 3 songs will make up the demo we're shopping to major labels. I'll try to inform everyone of the workings as we go along, I'm sure at some point I'll have to shutup though. I imagine when I do stop talking about it, it will be a good sign. Over the course of the next few weeks we're gonna put "Down" and "Breathe" out as a nationwide single release. Then we'll put up the stations in your area so you can call in and request! So next week I'll release a song on the website and ask that you let us know by voting in the poll how you feel about the song. OK? For this week however, I give you Paul's drum solo outtake, cleverly titled "The Italian Bomb!" Enjoy!!

01/05/05
Another new year rolls around. Were still in the studio working on a variety of stuff. Management is in the beginning stages of negotiations with major labels (and a few minors). Weve made a decision that now is the time to ditch the "indie" scene and try to sell out. Quite frankly I want a vacation home, as well as a normal home. The last time I tried to talk to labels was in while we were doing the "Head" thing and it didn't go so well, in fact, no one ever returned my calls or even answered them. Weve already talked to 2 different people this week and we just started late last week, actual communication. So of course were optimistic that we'll get something done and we'll let you all know shortly how it goes. In the meantime, call your cable operators and tell them you love Joe Nacco and the Joe Nacco Band! Happy new year everyone!
