Running time:
4 min. and 18 secs.

Song notes:
This song is for Dan Harvey (wherever you are) and Paul Salamone. I'll address Dan here and Paul in the production notes. Dan actually gave me the idea for the lyrics to this song, but apparently it's not the way he meant it, but I guess it's the thought that counts, right Dan (wherever you are)?

I wrote this late in 2003 for the Joe Nacco Band. We had recorded it for a 3 song demo with the Joe Nacco Band along with "Lovelight" and "Slow Down." It's was always meant to be on whatever the next album was to become, which is this album of course. This is basically the same story as the one written on "Lovelight" cause the same things ended up happening.

I'll be honest here, this is my least favorite song on the album. I was torn between cutting this and "Slow Down" (I always do 10 song albums - it's a ritual). I kept this one for Dan and Paul. Although I'm not sure Paul even likes it. He sure played well on it.

Production notes:
I went back at the last second and cranked up the drums for Paul. They are the loudest on the album. My hat goes off to Paul on the chorus on this one. Sweet job!

I went back to the original tapes and extracted Paul's drum track and started from scratch. Same thing as "Lovelight," I wanted to get a more laid back feel from the first version. I never meant this song to be so hard and I think I toned it down a bit. Mostly by adding acoustic guitar and a little piano hook in the verse.

Lyrics:
Standing here before you
Staring right at you
Cause I notice what I see
But I know this couldn't be

It's a shame
That love is like a Sand castle
In the rain
Holding on and hoping it could last forever

Throwing out tomorrow
Such a waste of time
But I need this just this once
Cause I'm feeling like I'm lost

It's a shame
That love is like a Sand castle
In the rain
Holding on and hoping it could last forever

(guitar solo)

Waiting here forever
Waiting here for you
Cause I need you, yes I do
And I love you like fool
